Murdered Acolyte in Civil
June 11, 578
This just in, one of the acolytes at a temple in Civil’s southern district was murdered in a late night assault. The motives for the assault seem to be martial as all of the victim’s golden talismans and his coin pouch seem to have been stolen. There was no sign of a struggle and no other obvious motive. Authorities are willing to pay for tips on the culprit. The Temple of Abadar will mourn the lose of their fallen brother at a service at the end of the week.
Non-Violence in Civil
June 12, 578
A small protest group has begun forming in front of the Civil city power plant in protest to the use of crystals. This reaction is assumed to be to the near crisis in Frigus and the war, but the recent murder seems to of sparked the protesters into action. Authorities are on the scene but the protesters are so far strictly non violent and are wielding nothing but signs and chants. The protesters number only 20 people right now, but they are looking to shore up the numbers so that they can really make an impact. “We want the people of Civil to know that we are not affiliated with the Corruption and that people have a choice, just because we disagree does not brand us traitors.” Strong words from the leader of the group, more on this story as it develops.
Tensions Heating Up
July 9, 578
The feud over territory in Saraghar has heated up to levels of all out war being declared. Davith Nightwalker has changed long time diplomat and Warden Vimak Mountainrunner, to dominance and control over the destiny of the people. The war will begin at the usual sacred grounds in just seven days. It is said that Civil has sent diplomats of its own to help the two sides come to an agreement. It is rumored that the diplomats are the same group who lead Frigus to vicroty in the Ice Wars. The Cold Warriors (as they are known in Frigus now) are a force to be reckoned with but let’s see if they have the delicate touch needed for this mission. More as the story unfolds.
July 15, 578
It has been 6 days since the Cold Warriors arrived in Saraghar and they have not been seen since. It is the last day of the standoff and tomorrow morning the two tribes will go to war. The bloodless outcome that we all hoped for does not look like it will happen. Travelers are being barred from Saraghar until the war is over.
Meanwhile here in Civil, the sit-ins at the powerplant have tripled in number as support for finding a new energy sources has exploded since the news at Frigus spread throughout the land. People are coming in from all of the territories to voice their opinion about the situations. The master of security for Central Civil Richard “The Dragonheart” Tarski has called in reinforcements to help keep the peace. When interview he had this to say, “We intend to keep the peace at any cost." "Citizens beware, I take any crime very seriously and you will be punished. “ and “if this keeps up, we might have to hire the Cold Warriors ourselves to help keep the peace, if they complete their mission in Saraghar I can certainly put them to more good work.” Interesting words from the master of security. More as it develops.
Hot Spot Civil
August 15, 578
Civil has been a busy place the last couple of days. No more than a week ago, people were gathering to protest the use of crystals in everyday life and to stop the persecution of the group “the corruption”. Just a few days later started one of the biggest coups to ever appear with in the Civil walls where the Corruption successfully entered the city’s most protected areas and destroyed an entire districts crystal supply. The power plant on the east side of Civil was infiltrated and a large crystal was destroyed as well as many security mechanisms. Luckily the Cold warriors were in the area and rushed to the scene to work hand in hand with the famous Richard “Dragonheart” Tarski. Together, this unstoppable force managed to beat back the corruption and save the district. The Cold warriors are the talk of the town and we will hopefully get exclusive interviews with the members as soon as possible.
In with the New
September 19, 578
No more than one month after the Cold Warriors parted ways with the guild and began the Sootler Mountain Adventuring Company or SMAC for short, another premier group of adventures has already emerged. The group known as the “Peace Bringers” consists of five members has just completed a successful mission in Selva to investigate the corrupted plantation and near destruction of one of Selva’s largest hanging gardens which provides food to all of the territories. I had a chance to interview two of the members briefly with Ranissa, Xander and Boosh and each seems to be very excited about their new jobs. Needless to say, Civil will be looking forward to the progress of this up and coming group.
